Christians and Harry Potter, Sabrina, Bewitched..... Halloween. Your opinions please?

I was talking to a Baptist man the other day who said he would not let his children read Harry Potter. We then went on to discuss other books and stories such as 'Sabrina the teenage witch', 'Bewitched' etc. He also said he would not allow them to read or watch these. From there I asked about Halloween and that was also a no no. His children could not participate in that either. Im in Australia so I guess missing out on halloween isn't as big as it would be in the USA. Still.... I've seen questions answered about Harry Potter... but Bewitched and Sabrina? Also the movie 'Practical Magic' and 'The Craft' were out. It all seems a little over-bearing to me, as a parent can't you just explain the concept of 'fantasy'.
