What contributed more to the downfall of Fernando Vargas?

I gotta say A) the constant weight gain. He's from Oxnard, California which is maybe 20 miles from where i live, and there is almost nothing to do out there but eat, sleep, and have , i'm not even joking either he's from a farm town, i don't like him at all because he always talks about how he had a rough life and he grew up in a bad neighborhood and to be honest i have never seen any part of Oxnard that closely resembles that at all. Also another thing that contributed to his downfall was after the De La Hoya fight, while training he hurt his back pretty bad and hasn't been the same since.
