Why does a hospital application process take so long?

The hiring process at a hospital is just clically a slow one. Many people apply for the open positions, and then its a slow process to weed out the candidates that have the qualifications they are looking for. Then typically the applicants are tested for computer literacy, medical knowledge, etc & their resumes are then ped down to the department that is hiring. It can take some time, but don't lose hope. If you are qualified, you should hear something.
